Draft Day is finally here!

Be sure to check out my mock draft column from a few days ago as well as yesterday’s column on what the Giants, Jets and Eagles may do.

Right on-trend, the past two days have been filled with rumors, buzz, and unqualified prognosticators like myself who are guessing what may or may not happen. What makes this year different is that this is a draft with good talent, but lacks the clear cut elite talent that you would safely assume would be off the board with the first couple of picks. One last note before we get to some risers/sleepers to look out for tonight - 8 teams have 2 picks this year – the Lions, Texans, Jets, Giants, Eagles, Saints, Packers and Chiefs. The Niners still have Deebo Samuel and Jimmy Garoppolo who are on the trading block, the Cleveland Browns still have Baker Mayfield who is likely to be moved and the Giants have James Bradberry who they also want to move. In other words, expect trades and a lot of movement tonight. This draft can go in a million different directions and I’m all about it. This will be one of the most unpredictable drafts in years. Adam Schefter tweeted this morning that one front-office executive told him “This is the craziest draft I’ve seen in 30 years.” Here are some players to look out for tonight who are rising up draft boards:

Jermaine Johnson – DE – Florida State

Tyler Smith – OL – Tulsa

Desmond Ridder – QB – Cincinnati

Daxton Hill – S – Michigan

Breece Hall – RB – Iowa State

Jahan Dotson – WR – Penn State

Best of luck to all of your teams – I’ll have draft grades for each pick coming tomorrow. Happy drafting!
